because i can and it makes me happy

Burn it down till the embers smoke on the ground
And start new when your heart is an empty room
With walls of the deepest blue

Home's face: how it ages when you're away
Spring blooms and you find the love that's true
But you don't know what now to do
Cause the chase is all you know
And she stopped running months ago

And all you see
Is where else you could be
When you're at home
Out on the street
Are so many possibilities
To not be alone

The flames and smoke climbed out of every window
And disappeared with everything that you held dear
And you shed not a single tear for the things that you didn't need
'Cause you knew you were finally free

'Cause all you see is where else you could be when you're at home
Out on the street are so many possibilities to not be alone

And all you see is where else you could be
When you're at home
There on the street are so many possibilities to not be alone

I want you to be crazy 'cause you're stupid baby when you're sane

blistered and stiff. and covered in dirt. that's how i felt when i woke up this morning. and kind of still do (i think i have permanent dirt-stained skin).

oh austin i love you.

and per cory's request, i did fall in love (have sex) with a techie and am now wandering in a constant state of delirium with multiple bands. fuck grad school, fuck work. fuck paying my rent tomorrow.

we want our film to be beautiful, not realistic.

Dear Catholic Bishops,

You make me ashamed to admit that I'm Catholic (was raised anyways).

http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/gerald_warner/blog/2008/09/19/joe_biden_loses_barack_obama_the_catholic_vote

As if there weren't already enough judgmental, short-sighted, fundamentalists running around picking one issue to base the entire election on, you go and refuse Joe Biden communion (my parents still believe this is something the liberal media makes up and refuse to acknowledge that it actually happens).

Catholics may make up a quarter of voters in this country, but I really hope that a great number of them have the common sense to choose their candidate based on more than whether he/she is pro-life or not. I'm really not so sure, but I'll continue to hope...

You Make Me Like Clarity.

Coming to you live and well from the law library. Survived Ike without damage to apartment, car, or self. Thank you to all of my wonderful friends who housed me as a refugee for a few days. Very glad to be back in my apartment with power. Hope you and your families are all doing well, especially if they weathered the storm.

Drill, baby drill!

I wanted to vomit all over my keyboard as soon as I started seeing people on facebook update their status to include praise of Sarah Palin. Sure, her speech might have been captivating, but all it did was fire up the GOP. It was chock-full of insult after insult after insult. I'm not saying the Dems don't fall prey to the same tactics. Election time in general can get pretty old when candidates stop talking about the issues and instead just poke jabs at each other, but I just wish people would recognize this instead of saying things like, "Wow, that Sarah Palin is really something!" She didn't even write that speech (one of Bush's main speechwriters can take credit for it). Be realistic.

And don't even get me started on all the delegates chanting "Drill, baby, drill!"

When are people going to realize that a quick fix is not a solution to the energy crisis? Just when you start to think that Americans are maybe sort of getting it, the fact that maybe we should look to Europe for ways at living alternative, environment friendly lifestyles, you have people like Palin and the rest of McCain's camp come in, promising to overrule the offshore drilling regulations. Oil, oil, oil. That's all they can think about because they want you to believe it will solve so much.

''Drilling promises something to the people that isn't going to come true,'' said Ros-Lehtinen. ``It's not going to bring down the price of gas at the pump tomorrow or ever.''

I also enjoyed it when Giuliani referred to Obama as a "celebrity senator." Laughable. Just plain laughable. The pot does often call the kettle black.

(stepping off my soap box now)

hope is a demon bitch

i have to be at work in a little less than 6 hours. so not even tired, and still several things i need to do before i go to bed. i guess it's going to take a while for me to get used to waking up early again.

don't go see hamlet 2. the above is the only memorable line from the movie, which was overall kind of disappointing. i had good company though.

i kind of just want to keep living this ultra-over-self-indulgent lifestyle that involves very few responsibilities and lots of dancing. but i know that my bank account would only last so long down that road and then i would be left with some awesome stories and a really bad hangover, not much else.

i've almost been avoiding looking for new music and i don't know why. maybe in an attempt to be "more serious" about school and whatever the hell i'm going to do with my life? i'm going to start again. scouring the internet for music was one of the best ways to waste valuable study time in college. hey look at me, i'm in college again. here's something i stole from someone else.

i guess we'll live for the weekends.
